September 4, 2026 - Upcoming School Year Safety

BRIDGEWATER, NJ -

Bridgewater Township has been made aware of concerns circulating within the community about a potential change in bus service for their children residing within Bridgewater Township ahead of the upcoming school year. Mayor Matthew Moench directed the Bridgewater Township Police Department to gather facts from the School District to ensure the safety of students to school.

Following consultation with the Bridgewater-Raritan School District, the Bridgewater Township Police Department was advised that the issue only impacts a handful of students across the district and is not a widespread matter. Public safety and protecting and serving the community, especially Bridgewater children, continues to be the utmost priority. We will always stand at the ready to assist the district to ensure Bridgewater Township students have a safe route to school.

As this is a Bridgewater-Raritan School District issue, Superintendent Robert Beers has requested parents and community members who have questions or concerns about school transportation contact the Bridgewater-Raritan School District directly at (908) 685-2777 or contact their local school principal.

For any public safety concerns, please contact the Bridgewater Township Police Department at 908-722-4111.
