August 24, 2026 - Fatal Crash on Finderne Ave

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - On Sunday, August 23, 2026, at approximately 4:12 p.m., officers from the Bridgewater Township Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Finderne Avenue and East Main Street for a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and a Ford F-150.

Upon arrival, officers located a disabled 2017 Ford F-150 in the intersection. The vehicle was operated by a 68-year-old male from Somerville, NJ, who was not injured.

Also located in the intersection was a disabled 2014 Suzuki GSX motorcycle, which sustained extensive damage. The motorcycle operator, a 29-year-old male from Somerset, NJ, was found lying in the roadway. He was unresponsive and not breathing. Officers immediately began CPR and continued life-saving measures until the arrival of paramedics, who assumed medical care. The motorcycle operator was transported to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Somerville, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the motorcycle was traveling southbound on Finderne Avenue in the right lane and was approaching the intersection with East Main Street. At the same time, the Ford F-150 was traveling northbound on Finderne Avenue and approaching the same intersection. The Ford F-150 attempted to make a left turn onto East Main Street and turned directly into the path of the motorcycle. The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the Ford F-150, causing the motorcycle operator to be ejected.

Finderne Avenue was closed for several hours while officers conducted the crash investigation.

The crash remains under investigation by the Bridgewater Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit.
